What is a Hosted Solution?

Cincinnati Time Systems is pleased to announce the availability of a “Software as a service (SaaS)” solution to offer our clients and prospects. There has been a tremendous amount of confusion over what is a SaaS solution and how does it differ form other off-site software offerings. The short answer for most of us is it doesn’t. Software as a service, On Demand Software, Application Service Provider (ASP) and Hosted Solution Provider (HSP) all are different names for the same type of service.

Some of the advantages for the client include:

  • Reduction of internal IT Costs
  • Key software systems are kept up to date and managed by experts
  • The ability to benefit from the latest technology without the up front investment
  • Improve the reliability, availability and security of internal IT systems
  • Redeploy the IT staff to focus on strategic projects core to the business
  • Greater control over costs – Monthly fees are based on usage, no ongoing software maintenance or annual licensing fees

With our new Software as a Service (SaaS) offering we can provide you with a scalable full featured labor management product with scheduling, time and attendance, accruals, points and advanced leave request. The application includes a management console for messaging and workflow alerts for notification of definable exceptions.

Who will benefit the most from this approach? While this will vary based on the individual client’s situation here are some typical types of organizations that should consider this strategy:

  • Clients with older software and hardware that want the advantages a new application can offer without the associated investment
  • Those clients with a highly seasonal or variable workforce. Because you are paying for monthly usage, the costs will more closely mirror your activity and revenue
  • Any client that wants to try it before they buy it. With SaaS the client pays only for startup costs (training and implementation). No software is purchased.
  • Clients with less then 50 employees who wouldn’t normally have access to applications with these features
  • Any client that doesn’t have a strong IT staff or IT infrastructure. All that is needed is high speed Internet access and PC’s with Internet Explorer.
